Bernardo Silva is a real option for Barcelona as the LaLiga champions have had a tremendous start to the summer transfer window.
The 31-year-old midfielder is available as a free transfer player after announcing he will leave Manchester City when his contract expires in June 2026, after nine years at the Etihad Stadium.
The Portuguese has attracted interest from a number of clubs, including Atletico Madrid, Benfica, as well as teams in Saudi Arabia and MLS (Major League Soccer).
He has not commented on his next move, but sources at Barcelona have confirmed to ESPN that his recruitment is possible and so a real option.
Barcelona have completed a deal to sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United for an initial fee of 70 million euros. The England winger will be officially introduced on Friday, May 29, 2026, local time.
ESPN also revealed that, after the arrival of Gordon, the Blaugrana had increased their interest in Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez.
After Robert Lewandowski announced he was leaving when his contract expires next month, Barcelona are looking for a new striker in the transfer market. The recruitment of Gordon is not related to the search for the number 9 player.
Marcus Rashford’s name is also still on the list of targets. Barcelona has the option to make his loan status permanent from Manchester United for a price of 30 million euros.
They have not ruled out the possibility of bringing back the England striker even though they have signed Gordon, who plays in the same position.
The Blaugrana want to renegotiate the terms of the deal with Manchester United, especially regarding the price of Rashford’s release.
