Neymar completed his first full training session with Brazil on Sunday, June 21, 2026, local time. The Santos striker is expected to appear in the last match of Group C against Scotland in Miami Gardens, Florida, on Thursday, June 25, 2026, morning WIb.

Neymar missed Brazil’s first two matches at the 2026 World Cup, including a 3-0 win over Haiti on Saturday, June 20, 2026 WIB, due to a right calf injury.

The Santos star took to social media to express his excitement at training with the rest of the squad for the first time since joining the Brazil camp last month.

The 34-year-old wrote, “Thank you, God. I’m so happy!!!”

Neymar last played for Santos on May 17, 2026. His return to top physical condition is a big boost for Brazil. Neymar is his country’s top scorer with 79 goals in 129 international appearances.

“We are all happy that he is back, back training and on the field with the rest of us. He is a very important player for the Brazilian national team.”

“He has an incredible history here and can still help us a lot. We are happy for him, happy he is back, and we hope he will soon return to the field to help us,” said Flamengo midfielder Lucas Paqueta.

Neymar is playing in his fourth World Cup and hopes to lift his first major title with Brazil. Five-time champions Brazil have not lifted the World Cup since 2002.

When asked if he and his teammates were aware that this was Neymar’s last chance to win the World Cup, Paqueta agreed.

“I believe so. We players are proud to have five stars, but also represent everyone’s dreams. We want to see that dream come true, like all of you. We intend to do our best to make it happen,” he said.

Brazil leads Group C, both collecting four points with Morocco, while Scotland is in third place with three points.

The victory certainly gave the Samba Team relief by ensuring a place in the knockout phase of the 2026 World Cup.
