GRASS LAKE, Mich. (News 10) – The Waterloo Farm Museum is hosting its Blacksmiths and Soldiers Weekend with Civil War demonstrations and tours.
The event features blacksmithing demonstrations and tours of a house built in the 1850s.
Chad Kinch, president of the Waterloo Area Historical Society, said visitors often recognize items from their family history.
“A lot of people have come here that have never been here before and they're just, you just see their eyes light up and they're like, oh, they remember seeing things like this from when their grandparents, growing up, seeing things like this in the grandparents' house and how their grandparents used to live and everything,†Kinch said.
The event runs Sunday from noon until 4 p.m. Cannon firings are scheduled for noon and 2 p.m.
